Projects
In the field of active rehabilitation several projects are active. They make use of innovative and existing technologies, such as robotics, virtual reality and/or electrical stimulation, to improve upper extremity rehabilitation therapy for patients with neurological disorders.
In the past (2004-2008) the active rehabilitation project, gave more insight in the usage of robotics in rehabilitation therapy. Two robotic devices were developed in the project, the Freebal and Dampace.
The VirtuRob project, started in 2007 (till 2011), and makes use of robotics and virtual reality to improve rehabilitation therapy.
From 2009 on, the Mias project will start (till 2012), implementing robotics, virtual reality and electrial stimulation in one setting, for the improvement of rehabilitation therapy.
More projects have been performed in the past in the field of active rehabilitation, relating to robotics, virtual reality or electrical stimulation. Information about these projects will be submitted in future.
