Active Rehabilitation

Active Rehabilitation reflects the believe that patients with neurological disorders (stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury) can Rehabilitate most optimal when performing Actively in therapy. In line with this "theme" of Active Rehabilitation, different projects have been performed, and are being performed at Roessingh Research and Development, in cooperation with several other partners. The focus of the projects is on active initiation and execution of movements of the arm, with a high intensity in meaningful training environments, with the goal of optimal motor recovery.

This website gives an overview of developments in the field of Active Rehabiliation. At the moment the focus is on Robotics, Virtual Reality, and Electrical Stimulation. Within this field several projects are (being) performed, which can be found elsewhere on the website, see the menu on the left side.
